We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Kiwi churches and people to the needs of those so badly impacted by the force of Typhoon Haiyan. As we have all seen in the media, the lives of countless people have been turned upside down. Tragically, many people have lost their lives. Many are facing the future without family members whom they loved dearly. Many are scavenging for food and shelter. People there have to piece together as best they can the little they have left of their houses and their livelihoods.

Since we heard of the devastation caused by Haiyan, and because of the generosity of so many people, we have
already remitted –

  • $30,000 to Christian Missions in the Philippines
  • $5,000 to Paul & Gerrah Kulikovsky, an Australian missionary couple working with the local church in Guiuan
  • $3,000 to New Hope Christian Ministries

Funds continue to flow into GC Aid. It's not too late to help out with your donation by  DONATING ONLINE or

  • Cheque – to GC Aid, P O Box 744, Palmerston North 4440
  • Electronic transfer – GC Aid, bank acct no 06 0729 0522196 00, particulars 'Typhoon Haiyan'

Update received recently from CMPI regarding the Philippines:

Thank you for your continued support for the relief operations here in the Philippines. We have just released the
last of the funds we had on hand so it will be great to have more available. We are concentrating our efforts in
Guiuan where Paul and Gerrah Kulikovsky are ministering. They now have a temporary roof on their house with
materials salvaged from junk left by the typhoon. They have been able to put together over 230 packages of food
for one area in which they have been ministering. Unfortunately the relief will be an on-going effort for many
months - maybe years before the place returns to "normal."
