news-flashWhat can we do with the challenge of the unreached right now?

Some of you may be doing the Count for Zero series or something similar. We know that 99% of our giving goes to those ministries where people have heard the gospel and have contact with Christians. What can we be doing about those who are unreached?

Learn, share and multiply the message about the remaining "gaps" through the FREE small group study at Count for Zero Curriculum. (follow the links)

In terms of ways churches can engage

Begin to pray for those who are unreached- go to to find helpful information and prayer notes.

GC3 has a number of groups beginning to work with nationals who are reaching unreached groups- Ministry to Asia Pacific (MAP) run by Oi Chin Aik from Malaysia. He is here in Auckland from the 6th -20th August. Chin Aik will also be in the Manawatu area late July and early August. Contact Sefton Marshall in regards to this (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). There will be a breakfast meeting at Eden Community Church on the 8th August at 7:30 am. MAP trains and supports evangelists working amongst these groups in 5 SEA countries. NZ churches and individuals can sponsor a church planter for 80 dollars a month.

Life Church Manurewa and Takapuna Bible Chapel are involved in a partnership to set up local community radio stations in West Papua in relationship with local believers with the aim of reaching Muslim populations in their regions. There are a number of opportunities for financial support and also to visit and encourage those involved in the ministry. This will extend to the Vanimo CBC churches when they are able to partner.

Partnering with Christian Leaders Training College in the training of two PhD candidates who are currently at Otago University. These men are key leaders who are involved in the training of Papua New Guinean Men and Women who are able to take the gospel to the unreached in their region in ways we as white Westerners are unable to do so. Monthly sponsorship or one off gifts are being sought.

Work with those who engage with unreached in New Zealand. International Student Ministries would love it if more of us got involved. Show an interest in and be hospitable to internationals who are come along to your church. Pray for and with them. Support them.

Sense where your responsibility lies and either prepare to go (or engage locally) through appropriate training and relationship building or give to those who are able to go and finally pray.
