aidThe flow of funds through GC Aid to relieve the trauma of human suffering continues to impress us. You'll find historical data on page 55 of our Daily Prayer Guide on the volume of funds we've handled but here's what's happened in 2015 so far.

Cyclone Pam, Vanuatu
Of the $29,700 received, $8,000 has improved the lives & living situations of locals and $5,000 has provided portable sawmills to villagers. Soon we are likely to place the remainder to help build cyclone proof dwellings from recyclable materials and to provide a quality water supply to a number of villages.

Ebola Relief
The funds on hand at the start of the year have been disbursed through the Barnabas Fund.

Earthquake, Nepal
$10,000 of the $13,300 received has been sent and distributed by locals in four different areas. The aim is to place the funds in a way that meets the needs of the disadvantaged people in a holistic manner.

Refugees, Syria & Iraq
Our media frequently reminds us of the huge needs of refugees fl eeing Syria and Iraq. So far this year we have sent a total of $25,000 to Manara International, a reputable organisation working out of Jordan to relieve the suffering of these displaced people.

Earthquake, Christchurch
The post-quake needs of people in Christchurch continue. Lichfi eld Lands has continued its support of programs reaching the community through three churches there.

General
From general funds we receive we are able to top-up specifi c projects as well to respond to immediate demands for aid.

Isaiah 58:7 asks us to, "Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help." GC Aid exists to provide a vehicle so that we may be able to help those who are disadvantaged.
