Praise that our Mother’s Day event at preschool went really well. The Mums are so touched by the foot-washing ceremony that we have the children do, as well as the songs/dances about how much they love their mothers. Give thanks with me that my health and energy have increased significantly. I am now back to studying Thai and going to an exercise class. Two things that just a few months ago I had no energy for. I continue to be blessed through connecting with some kids in my community as an ‘aunty’. I get to do fun things like roller blade, eat pizza or ice cream, and play soccer with them. I love being able to be an adult who is interested in their day-to-day life. Pray for these kids. Some are TCK’s and are figuring out who they are. The others are Thai pastor’s kids with lots of pressure to live up to expectations.

ease give thanks I have arrived safely in Juba, South Sudan. Please pray for me as I settle into my life and role here and for long lasting peace and prosperity for South Sudan.

On Sunday we had a celebration and dedication at Omili Christian Centre in Lae, PNG. The purpose of this joyous occasion was to launch the first “Dorcas Creations” group in PNG. The label is inspired by the story of Dorcas in Acts 9:36. Yvonne has been working with women in urban CBC groups to develop sewing skills. Sewing machines and one over locker were made available by gifts in NZ to establish the group. The purpose is to provide urban women with a focus for fellowship, spiritual development and income generation to contribute to needy families. They have orders for 50 meri blouses and the possibility of a contract to supply school uniforms. It’s exciting to watch God’s purposes being fulfilled through these women. We move on to Mt Hagen this Wednesday to work with the church in that city.
